Abstract

Al-Qur’an is the main guide to life for every Muslims. The language of Al-Qur’an, which is influenced by patriarchal cultural factors in Arab society, has resulted in an unequal understanding of religion. Regarding interfaith marriages, there are many different opinions. Most scholars believe that the permissibility of interfaith marriages only applies to Muslim men. Meanwhile, Muslim women are prohibited from entering into interfaith marriages. This is because Al-Qur’an does not explicitly allow Muslim women to marry men who are people of the book or non-Muslims. For this reason, it is necessary for Muslims to create a methodology for reading the Koran for women. So that Muslims are able to grasp the message of Al-Qur’an comprehensively.
