Scholars try to approach the understanding of the Qur'an in various aspects using various methods and approaches, in line with the development of various fields of Islamic scientific disciplines supported by established economic and political stability. The adoption of philosophy and the interaction of Islam with various cultures (civilizations) of Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity, so that various patterns of Qur'anic exegesis emerged, the study not only attracted the sympathy of intellectual and rationalist groups, but was also appreciated by Sufi groups who relied on the sharpness of the eyes and minds trained through riyadhah, mujahadah and musyahadah, so as to be able to grasp the esoteric meaning of the Qur'anic verses that are implicit (implied) besides Its explicit tomorrowic meaning. Muqorin tafsir is a comparison of Sufi exegesis such as Muhyidin al-Ghazali who promoted a sufistic way of life called orthodox while Muhyidin Ibn Arobi (the great Sufi who is considered controversial) continued with Sufism called heterodox sufism. Regarding Sufi exegesis Goldziher said: interpreting the Qur'an in the way of ta'wil as Sufis have done in ancient times, as old as Sufism itself, in certain circles there are already various spiritual schools that hold to the belief that the Qur'an includes teachings richer than those taught outwardly.
